Meals on Wheels

The MCMSA has been delivering Meals on Wheels to
Muskegon’s home bound citizens for over 25 years. The volunteers’ average twenty meals delivered per shift. In its
history, as many as thirty meals and as few as thirteen meals
have been delivered in a shift. Currently, MCMSA volunteers
deliver meals on the Lakeshore route the first, third and fifth
Mondays of the month. The route begins and ends at the
Nutritional Services office. Hot meals are primarily delivered,
but also some cold meals. The route takes approximately 1 1/2
hours to complete for an individual. However, MCMSA volunteers
strive to work shifts in pairs, to help make new friends and
lessen the delivery time.
